YouTube Rebrands Studio as YouTube Studio
YouTube has rebranded the creator hub on its site as YouTube Studio. This means that you can now access your account from a dedicated page, rather than having to navigate through the rest of the site.
The name change was announced in a blog post by Google’s VP of Product Management Shiva Rajaraman. He said: “We know that creators have different needs and we want them to have an experience they love when they visit our site.”

- New Copyright Features in Studio: This is a sneak peek at the upcoming release of Studio, our new video creation tool for YouTube creators. You can check out our official announcement and sign up to be notified when we’re ready to launch it here. The features you’ll find below are still under development, but they will be released soon (probably before the end of 2019).
- How To Use New Copyright: When you’re creating videos with Studio, three settings are important to know about: “Auto”, “Metadata”, and “Music”. These settings control how much information about your content gets included on YouTube itself and they also affect the metadata associated with each video creation tool that comes before or after Studio within our product lineups (meaning if you use one of those tools first then your next video will have even more information added).
Expanding our Copyright Management Tools to Everyone with a Channel
Copyright management is a process that allows you to protect your content from being used by third parties, including YouTube. It’s also important because it helps protect your channel and its content from copyright infringement claims.
To use copyright management:
- Create an account on https://www.youtube.com/copyrightmanagement/. You can access this service by clicking “My Account” in the upper right corner of any screen on YouTube or by typing https://www.youtube.com/copyrightmanagement into your browser address bar.
- Once logged into your account, select which rights you want to manage (I) Creator Rights (ii) Managerial Rights then click “Manage Content” at the bottom of the page.
- Your creator dashboard will open up with information about all of your videos including title, description, and thumbnail image(s). Clicking these links will take viewers directly to their corresponding pages on YouTube where they can watch them live or download them for later viewing offline.
Controlling Your Content Can’t Wait
Content control is important for everyone on YouTube. Creators need to be able to control the content they upload to their channels so that it doesn’t get taken down for copyright infringement or inappropriate behavior. Advertisers want to make sure their ads appear only in videos that comply with brand guidelines, and communities want an environment where creators and viewers can interact freely without fear of censorship or harassment by third parties.
Content control is also a priority for YouTube itself: we want our platform to be a safe place where users feel comfortable expressing themselves creatively and responsibly sharing their ideas—and we know this means staying ahead of issues like copyright protection as quickly as possible!
Your Content, Your Choice. Our Change
YouTube has added more control over the use of your content. You can now block videos from appearing on your channel, and you can also block them from appearing on ads.
You may have noticed that some of these new features don’t seem like they would be particularly useful to most users but that’s because they’re not aimed at the average user. They’re designed for those who want to make money off their channels, either through advertisements or subscriptions (or both).
For example: if you’ve got a lot of subscribers but only a few thousand views per video, then maybe it makes sense for advertisers to pay more attention than when someone has tons of views but only hundreds of subscribers.
