The Cowboys looked impressive last week against the Titans and should continue their winning ways against a Dragons team that has some holes in defence.
Parramatta Eels v Warriors
The Eels are one of the outsiders to make a top eight finish this season and need to win this game against their rivals. They will have a raucous home crowd behind them at Commbank Stadium. Reece Walsh will add a much-needed attacking edge to the side, while Junior Paulo and Reagan Campbell-Gillard should provide plenty of grunt in the middle.
On the other hand, the Warriors are a shell of their best form from early 2021. They have been hit hard by injury and are missing a number of regular starters. They should still be good enough to cause the Eels trouble at Commbank Stadium. Warriors by 14.
Sharks v Sea Eagles
The Sharks are chasing a top 4 finish and will do well to reverse a massive hoodoo at home against the Sea Eagles. They have not beaten Manly in the Shire since 2012 and have just one win in the past 12 clashes.
Both teams are in poor form and we see this being a close game with points at a premium. The Storm have a lot of injuries and have been held to only a couple of tries in their last two games.
The Sea Eagles attack spluttered last week and Daly Cherry-Evans will be out to lift the boys this time around. He is very good at building pressure through short kicking and can create try scoring opportunities for his outside backs.
Cowboys v Storm
The Storm are on a roll after beating the Tigers last week and their top four aspirations seem well and truly back on track. They should be a tough match for the Cowboys though who are on the hunt for their first win in 2023.
The Storm have to start improving their disciplinary record as they are the most penalised team in the league and it has been un-Storm like this year. If they can get their defence under control they will become a serious premiership contender. With Coates, Brandon Smith & David Nofoaluma back the Storm backline will be a force to reckon with. With a lot on the line for both teams this could be an epic battle. The Over/Under is at 43.5 points with TAB.
Roosters v Dragons
Roosters will be looking to turn around their season after a rough start and face the Dragons who are also struggling with a few red flags flying. Dragons on the other hand got a chunk of redemption last week beating the Warriors so they will be eager to take that into this match.
A late try to Mathew Feagai clinched the victory for the Dragons and gave caretaker coach Ryan Carr a dream start to his tenure. They had to survive a scare on Anzac Day, when they were down 26-10 with 30 minutes to play.
A Luke Keary grubberkick saw the Roosters cut the lead to two points and then he played a superb pass that deceived Talatau Amone for Joey Manu to score his first of the night. He was replaced late in the game for Corey Allan who will be eager to impress.
Bulldogs v Warriors
The Bulldogs face a difficult task when they take on the Warriors in their only New Zealand game of the season. They are without winger Jackson Ford and Edward Kosi due to injuries and the short turnaround means they have even less recovery time.
Volkman kicks deep on the last for the Bulldogs to restart. Perham tidies up, but is tackled to force the dropout. Johnson kicks high for the Warriors to restart, and they move inside the Bulldogs’ half. Watene-Zelezniak takes the first hit up, Nicoll-Klokstad second and Montoya third. They attack from the 20 and a smart Dylan Walker short ball sees Fonua-Blake run into a gap. Johnson converts to give the Warriors a try. It is their first since Round 6. A win would be huge for both sides.
