How to Draw A Cartoon Angel
Step 1
As the introduction mentions, the halo is a classic aspect of the popular interpretation of angels, so starting with a halo here makes sense.
The halo isn’t particularly complex but requires a certain steady hand. It would help if you drew a horizontal oval shape with another oval near the outline.
Once this halo is drawn, let’s draw the mane for the angel.
This is drawn with some curved and rounded lines to form the shape of the head as it appears in our example. Then we are ready for step 2!
Step 2
In this step of our guide on drawing a cartoon angel, we’ll refine the rest of the outlines for the hair and face.
This prepares you for the finer details in the next few steps. First, for the bangs, we use a series of curved lines that connect, which is how the rounded ear is created.
Next, we draw the bottom part of the face. This can be drawn as a simple, large, curved line. That’s all we have to do now, and then we can proceed.
Step 3
The cartoon angel drawing we are working on has a beautiful and happy facial expression, and that is exactly what we will draw in this step.
None of the facial features are particularly difficult, and as long as you follow the reference image closely, you’ll have no problem reproducing it!
The eyes are two simple curved lines with eyelashes sprouting from them. Above them are some eyebrows.
Then the nose is also drawn with a curved line pointing in the opposite direction of the eyes.
Finally, draw the smiling mouth underneath and add a small chin underneath.
Step 4
The head of this angel is ready, and now let’s start drawing the arms and the chest of the dress she is wearing.
The left arm hangs and is drawn in simple curved lines, culminating in a slightly flat area at the base. You can then add a little coat to the sleeve.
The right arm is drawn but is folded over the chest. He will also end up with a small hand doing this fourth step.
Step 5
It’s almost time to give this angel its wings, but first, in this step of how to draw a cartoon angel guide, we will finish the outline of the body.
The dress is also designed in a simple style and has an outline that forms a slightly curved rectangular shape.
Finally, add two rounded feet under the dress, and that’s enough for this part.
Step 6
We mentioned that this angel needs its wings, so we will add them to your cartoon angel drawing in this step! First, we draw the wing on the right side.
This wing is drawn from a series of long, thin, rounded shapes to form the individual feathers.
Once this wing is drawn, we will add the next one along with all the final details in the next step.
Step 7
Your angel still needs its second wing; we will add that now! This goes to the left, drawing individual feathers as thin, rounded shapes.
Once this second wing is complete, you’re ready for the final step! You can also add a beautiful sky-blue background with some extra details to make this design even more personal. Then it’s time for some color!
Step 8
The last step in this How to Draw a cartoon angel guide is adding some color to finish it nicely. Our reference image showed you how to color this cute design.
We used brown for the hair and a nice soft blue for the dress. In the end, of course, we chose a beautiful bright yellow for the halo.
We would use these colors, but be sure to use whatever colors and mediums you feel are perfect for this angel!
