It is very common for people to wonder whether they can change or edit the caption in a TikTok video that they have already posted as there are some changes that people see later on after posting so if you are looking for the same then here, we are going to tell you about the same and can you edit a TikTok caption after posting the video.
How Can You Edit a TikTok Caption After Posting the Video?
If you are wondering whether there is an option that you can use to change the Tioktok caption after posting then, allow me to tell you that there is no feature in the application that allows the same as the only option that you have when you want to know how to edit TikTok caption after posting is to delete the video and then, re-uploading it with the new caption.
TikTok doesn’t give you any option where you can edit and add your caption; the only thing you can do is reupload it. The good news is that you will not have to waste any time adding new filters and other things, as you just need to save the already-uploaded video. But the bad news is that you will lose all the comments, likes, and engagement with the same video since you will be deleting it.
Here are the steps of the technique we have discussed before:
- Firstly, you have to open the app and go to the page.
- Now, click on the “Me” icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Then select the video where you want to change the caption.
- On the right side of the screen, you will find “three dots”, You have to click on those three dots.
- Choose “Save video” from the menu given on the screen.
- Your video has been saved now. After saving the video, you need to post it again with the caption you want.
- Now, tap on the “+” sign at the bottom of the screen to repost.
- Click on the “Upload” button that you will find next to the red button.
- A list of pictures and videos will appear on the screen; select the video that you want to upload.
- Once you upload the selected video, click on the “Next” button.
- Again, tap on “Next”. If you want to add some stickers or text, you can add it here.
- Update your caption and audience preference there.
- In the end, click on “Post” to proceed.
- After posting the new video, you have to delete the old one from your timeline. To delete the video, open the video and click on the three dots at the right side of the screen. In the list of options, click on the Delete option that will appear at the end. Confirm your action by hitting the “Delete” button at the end.
To edit TikTok caption, you only have the option to repost it; however, we also recommend that you first upload the video as a draft and see whether all the things are correct, and then upload the video on TikTok to ensure that you do not lose your statistics for the video by deleting and reposting it.
